“Check Your Head” was my first vinyl LP. My cousin gave it to me for my birthday, long before I had a record player, and as I was opening it, said “That’s the start of your vinyl collection right there.”
MCA was always my favorite Beastie Boy – he had that classic voice, he took political stances, and he also took out (“like a sniper on a roof”) MC Serch on one of my all-time favorite Beastie cuts, “Professor Booty.”
